What To Expect At GU21?

A Quick Guide To 2021 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium

Genitourinary (GU) Cancers Symposium 2021, to be held virtually for three days, February 11 - 13, will highlight evidence-based education and practice-changing research from diverse experts with global perspective, and also will deliver the latest findings in the study, diagnosis, and treatment of GU malignancies. Besides, several discussions during the Symposium will focus practical applications of novel imaging and ever-evolving role of genomics as well as insight into personalized approaches to GU cancers will also be specific areas of focus.

Both scheduled broadcast sessions and on-demand sessions will broadcast the latest breakthroughs in Genitourinary viz. renal, urethral, prostate, adrenal, penile, testicular, and bladder cancers from Poster Sessions, Oral Abstract Sessions, Best of Journals coverage, case panel discussions, and a Keynote Lectures etc. William G. Kaelin Jr., MD, the 2019 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine will present a keynote lecture on February 12, 2021. The next day, February 13 sessions will focus exclusively on the management of renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

The Virtual Exhibits from GU21 provide opportunity to explore the latest GU cancer clinical trials and pharmaceuticals in developments, to connect with industry leaders, and to discover advanced technology. The Pharmaceutical Pipelines and Clinical Trials Directories are a new addition to the Virtual Exhibits.

Although in-person interactions are impossible due to virtual nature of the Symposium, GU21 offers many opportunities for attendees to network virtually. Trainee and Early-Career Oncologist Virtual Networking Session that will help connect attendees with mid- and senior-level oncology professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and specialties. In addition, Poster Highlight sessions provide another interactive opportunity for attendees to network as well as to have Q & A sessions in a smaller group. Additionally, there will be a networking event exclusively for trainee and early-career attendees to connect with renowned oncologists and researchers from around the globe. ASCO members also have access to myConnection, ASCO’s online group discussion portal, to build community and connect with colleagues.

This year, American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Radiology, and the American Board of Urology, as well as MOC points and Certificates of Attendance will offer CE credits for educational programs. Although unofficial in nature, the Industry Expert Theater offers a unique educational (nonaccredited) session for industry leaders and attendees interested in the latest drug development research. Similarly, Ancillary Educational Events which are CE-accredited educational programs will be held in conjunction with the Symposium. Both Industry Expert Theater and Ancillary Events are not sponsored, endorsed, or accredited by any of the cosponsoring organizations.
